McMAHON>> Every day, across the country, clinicians can choose from more than 3,000 hours of accredited continuing medical education.
Why does that matter?
Well, clinicians rely on accredited CME to learn about everything – from the latest medical breakthroughs to how to better communicate with families and their patients.
Accredited CME takes place online and face-to-face, everywhere that physicians and teams work and practice.
From simulation, bedside learning, digital education, to courses, collaborative learning sessions of all sorts, physicians and teams can choose from CME that meets their individual needs and their learning preferences.
Accredited CME is growing and it’s a vibrant enterprise. The numbers of educational events and participants grew, again, in 2016 – and have been growing every year since 2010.
I’m excited about this growth because it shows that physicians and teams are increasingly engaged in education that promotes the type of quality and safety, and the evolution of healthcare that we are all looking for.
Our annual report has a lot of data. But behind those numbers are real human educators, working in organizations from large international specialty societies to small rural hospitals delivering programs that are meaningful to clinicians, everywhere.
I celebrate your dedication, I appreciate the remarkable work that everyone in our CME community —from staff and volunteers to CME professionals and faculty and learners — do every day, not only to enhance education, but — most importantly — to optimize care for the patients we all serve.
